Hiding under beds,
peeking through windows.

Chasing after young ones
never sleeping, ever going.

Never more than a step away
hot breath mingling in the air.

Menacing claws
and razor sharp teeth,

children wake at night
just to feel the
tug, tug, tug,
at the sheets.

Then the scratch
of claws against flesh.

Muffled screams go unnoticed and unanswered
as the dirty claws dig into skin.

One hand over the mouth of the innocent
and the other going to places it never should.

Then the monster leaves
and behind is a broken soul.

And no one ever knows
the trauma that the monster left behind.

The Envious MoonThe moon's envious glow,
is nothing more, than the suns bright rays
shinning back from a gray face.

The loneliest person in the world,
she can only reflect what others disperse
and never show her own light.

Sometimes though, she gets her desires
to change the light she reflects
and becomes orange or red.

It never lasts though.

She finds solace in her reflection
to know that she is actually there,
and to feed what little pride she has.

And the moon sits alone
never to have company.
Only her mournful shriek her only sound.

She can never be the one
who provides light and comfort.

The most she can do
is give off a little refle

The house on the hillUp on a hill there lived a house,
in that house lived an old man.

He had lived his long life
and had lived in that house his entire life.

He didn't have family
and stayed on the porch every day.

When the children would come
he would give out candy apples and sweets.

The children loved the nice old man
who lived on the hill.

Then the man on the hill
passed away and went to a better place.

The once great house,
faded from thoughts
as the town still grew below it.

Once shiny windows,
and flawless paint,
faded and became aged.

The garden once taken care of,
with wrinkled old hands,
became overcome with weeds.

When society fallsAs we watch
This society fall

Let us all remember
What we were fighting for

Freedom from oppression
Safety from suppression

To fight without a cause
Isn't to really fight at all

We may think we rule the world
But really the world rules us all

All good dreams must end.

Don't fret dear,
the dream has to end
as all good dreams must do.

But don't you cry,
and don't be sad,
for all things must end.

Just have faith.
Have faith for the future.

So while this dream is over,
there are sure to be more
not too far away in the future.

There is sure to be
greater things in the future.

Let this dream end,
and release its hold on you
because while it is good,
another is absolutely on the way.

For what can bring life, can also bring death.For everything that brings life
It also brings death

Fire burns
Melting flesh from bone

Water suffocates
Silencing words never spoken

Earth crushes
Pounding down the weak

Air taints
Tainting what was once pure

Yet spirit
Has to be the worst

Spirit keeps hope alive
And makes us carry on

Even when life isn't worth living.

That thin white lineThere is a very fine line,
Between heaven and hell,
Good and evil,
What could happen and what doesn't,
Light and dark,
Life and death,
Animal and human,
Being hopeful and hopeless.

That thin white line
We walk every day
Not wanting to be bad
But yet not taking the effort to be good

We say we live
But how many of us actually live?
Our heart beating is the only thing
Saying that we're alive

Doing one bad thing
Can send someone to hell
But do we really deserve
The sanctuary of heaven?

We hunt for fun
Kill for joy
And yet we aren't
The animals

Light is pure.
Dark is tainted.
That gray area
Is where society lays.

IsHopeless is the man who dwells on what could have been
instead of what might possibly be.

Cruel is the man who sees everything
and does nothing to stop it.

Vain is the woman who cares only for looks
and not for the feelings of others.

Callous is the child who only wants
and never cares of the words of his mother.

Ignorant is the man who will not listen
yet can only hear himself.

Heartless is the woman
who does nothing for others.

Tragic is a country who mourns for one
when thousands die from something we could prevent.

Hero less is a person
who has no one to idolize.

Horrendous is the person
who hurts those who cannot help th

can't you just be mine?

My dear Valentine
won't you notice me?

But as long as your happy,
I'm happy too.
As long as you smile,
I'll smile too.
As long as you laugh,
I'll laugh too.

But as long as you're there,

Their taunting words
Haunting her every move

No one would love a bitch like you.

When she gets home,
Her mother doesn't ask
How she is

She goes to her room,
Cries more than she ever has before
And wishes for her life to end

As she falls asleep
She prays for some escape
From her personal hell.

Then she awakens the next day

Lovely AnneI once met a girl named Anne
and what a lovely girl was she.
She sat in corners and talked
and talked when no one listened.

While lovely Anne was so lovely
no one went near lovely Anne
and her never-ending talking.

Lovely Anne with black hair
and dark skin. Never listened
to the voice of society.

Lovely Anne talked of a world
so unlike our own.
No one went near her,
but everyone listened
to the thoughts of a wonderful world.

Lovely Anne lived in a world
where the clocks struck thirteen
where everyone loved
where everyone smiled
and tears were never shed.

The walls and floors
objects and papers
that she talked to day

The Caged Birds SongFor the caged bird
sings of freedom.

The caged bird sings
to hear his own songs.

For in all the twitters and tweets,
and in the cries and screams,

the caged bird sings
to hear the song of freedom
that it shall never know.

The caged bird has no use for words
or shouts of anger and sobs of terror.

The caged bird only needs its song.

Through bars and glass
the caged bird sings its song

and the caged bird and I,
we sing together,
because we are not free
in mind and soul
but together we are free
in song.

A family torn apart,
Loved ones lost forever, never to return

Flashes of gray

Fighting over meaningless issues

What makes you think you're worthy?

You think just a few kind words will fix everything?

That everything shall be forgotten because you wish?

It doesn't work like that.

But I'll smile and say everything's okay,

when really the memories never fade

and truly never forgive you for what happened.

You don't deserve my forgiveness

and to think that you not only do, but are entitled to it,

shows just what kind of person you are.

No, I will never forgive you,

so while I smile and pretend to tolerate you,

don't let your guard down for a second.

I'm just waiting, waiting for that perfect moment

DawnIn those fickle hours of the morning
right before the run has even risen,
and before the world truly begins to wake up
that is when the magic happens.

Each new dawn brings new life
the brand new start of a new day.

Life is such a fickle thing
that can end in an instant.

Yet in those early hours of the morning
when a new life had yet to begin
we see the true rise of people
as they begin what they believe is just a new day.

For in those early hours of the morning
we see the new chance to become and create
the life that has gone through each and every morning.

So while many sleep
through the early morning dawn
they miss the sle

There are moments
that you wish never end

Then there are moments
that couldn't go by fast enough.

Through at the times we have seen
and all the lives we have lived.

Time seems to be
the one thing that never changes.

Time likes to repeat itself
going hour by hour, second by second.

They say, today is history
but tomorrow is a mystery.

History likes to repeat itself,
so maybe tomorrow isn't such a mystery.
