In the blink of an eye
You're ten
Wanting to be thirteen
Now you're thirteen
Wanting to be eighteen
Today you're eighteen
Wanting to be twenty-one
The days slip by without your notice
Before you guess your thirty
Maybe married.
Family on the way.
'I still have plenty of time'
You laugh to me
Fifty years have have passed
Children grown up
Life half lived
'But now come the golden years'
You say
Seventy-five years come and gone
'Where did my life go?'
You say.
Days pass by without notice
And still time passes by.

Literature
Your life
People will be there at every corner to criticize you
To push you around
Laugh at you
Break your trust
But you cannot lose hope m'dear
Because it's a test
A test which will be a bit lengthy
But when it finishes
The results will be great
Life is a test
No matter how hard it gets
No matter how many times you fall
Just remember
I'll be there to pick you up
Make you strong
And support you
Till the very end
Because this world is just a mere illusion
In the end you'll be the only one you can trust
So why care what others think
Do what makes you happy
And live your life to the fullest
Because you get only one chance to live it
Literature
Do you still--
think you got the best of me?
think again.
assume i'm still crying over glass pieces of my heart?
look again.
believe i'll never be the same again?
because i'll be better.
feel like i want you back?
just to show you how unbroken i am.
---
think i need you like i used to?
think again.
assume that i'll still be waiting under a rainy sky with unread letters?
look again.
believe i'm only a reader who gave up writing for you?
because i'm better than before.
feel like i don't mean a word i say?
it's because you never knew me.

93. Give Up
She's gone . . .
She died.
Those words cut me like a knife,
Straight into my heart,
Ripping apart my soul.
I could find no voice to scream-
I was mute.
The only warmth I found,
Was the warmth of my tears,
As they claimed my face.
Then even that warmth was stolen from me,
As my tears dried,
Like a dying rose-
Its petals crackling and breaking within their frail state.
I was always known as the strong one,
The Mustang.
Oh my dear friends,
I am so glad you didn't see me then.
Because you wouldn't even have known me
I was brought to my knees,
With the simplest words.
But they obliterated any strength I had,
And rendered me t

Reminds me a lot about the song "100 years" from Five For Fighting. Life might seem to have a lot of days in it but it can also be gone in an instant.
